ACC206 Principals of Accounting IT Week 2 Journal ACC206 Principals of Accounting IT Week 2 Journal Question: While there are many instances of overlap between financial accounting and management accounting, each group’s primary focus is different. Review the Institute of Management Accounting’s (IMA) website, specifically the “About IMA” and the “Resources and Publications” sections of the website. Are you surprised by the topics that management accountants are focusing on? Why or why not? What interests you more, financial accounting or management accounting? Answer: I’m honestly not surprised at all. It takes all sorts of accountants to work in the different fields, especially now. And with the amount of experience that it takes as well as the pride they have for their accountants, shows that they strive to be a great company. What interests me is that it states that 80% of their accountants work for a business or organization (internally) instead of external work. I can see how it is umportant for them to be inside of a business or organization but it could also save the company money to have their accountants work from home.
