How does chatting with a PDF work?
Upload a PDF and CramX reads it. You then ask questions in plain language and get answers based on that document, with the PDF open beside the chat so you can check the source.
What kinds of documents work best?
Text-based PDFs such as lecture notes, textbook chapters, articles, research papers and study guides. Scanned pages without selectable text may give weaker results.
Is it free?
You can start free: new accounts get 50 points and starting a chat costs 5 points, with longer conversations using a few more. Premium plans include unlimited document chat.
Can it summarize a long reading?
Yes. Use Summarize or Key points for a quick overview, or ask for a summary of a specific section or chapter.
How accurate are the answers?
Answers are based on your document, which keeps them on topic, but AI can still misread a passage. Check anything important against the page itself.
Are my documents private?
Yes. Files you upload for chat are private to your account unless you choose to share a document to the study library.
