Althoughstill considered inferior to men, women gained new opportunities in the working profession asteachers, nurses and domestic service providers as a result of Market revolution. They gained anew sense of independence in both family and society as they took up a separate sphere at home.There was the drastic change in the position and role of women during war and affectedsurrounding demographics. The period from 1920 to 1936, was the phase that catalyzed thechanging role of women. They were given more importance in the society as both men andwomen were brought to active battle zones.The women were the most important entity thatprovided the back support to men and took the complete care and responsibility of the entirefamily. During the given period, women started earning and therefore, stepped out of house.They supported in several fields like politics, workplaces, factories, etc. and got the right to votein 1920. The return from war and return to war affected families and surrounding demographics,as all the men were busy in war activities and it was women who provided the back support andstepped out of house to help in various economic activities.
