Iwould say that their statements were more market oriented; they were not a productoriented as they should have been.A mission statement essentially provides a definitionof a business in regard to satisfying the basic needs of the customers.I believe the mostintegral role of a mission statement is to set the tone for the business, both internally andexternally. Unfortunately my previous company’s statements did notreflecttheiremployees. The company did notaim to let their employeesknow whattheir companywas about and how they wouldactually go about satisfying their mission.The companywas more interested about the customers and not the employees. Their mission statementwas also overly simplistic. The statements focused on having the best customer service inthe markets in which theyoccupied; nonetheless, the customer service was horrendous.Ifeel this is partly due to the fact that the company’s statements did not factor us in.Thecompany was also so big that theirstatements were forced to be overly generic. Thestatements were essentially meaninglessand not reflective of the company’s true values.It seems as though it is essential for a company to relate their mission, vision, andvalue statements in a very clear and descriptive way; this would involve having a solid
