Thecompany operated from 2002 to 2010, employing over 200 employees.The company wasfounded by David Jones in early 2002. The popular Grand Theft AutoandLemmings are someof the games developed by the company.APB was another very ambitious project of thecompany; however, the company announced shutting down of the business in September, 2010.The following paper will study, analyze and present the causes of failure of the organization andwhat could have been done to avoid the situation.Many ex-DMA Design executives started their own businesses in Dundee, Scotland.One of theexecutives was Dave Jones who later on was credited with the creation of Grand Theft Auto andLemmings, two of the most popular games in the history.The company’s most ambitiousproject, which also took the longest time to be launched, was APB. The company expected tomake huge profits from it. Instead what happened was that around 150 people lost their jobs andthe company went into administration. Just a small staff was left after the administration process,who were responsible for managing around 130,000 users.Around 20 developers were retainedfor working on Project MyWorld, a social gaming platform.Though the company looked forpotential buyers of the business, but did not find any and in the end, on 12 November 2010, theauction of the assets of the company was held, including the computers, monitors and gamingconsoles(Wood, 2010).
