We will look ar applications of cost data to business Decisions, performance evaluation planningand control.INSTRUCTIONAL APPROACHThis is a Honors course with interactive in-class discussions, web basea work and class presentations.Communication and research are key components of this class. The course progresses at a fast pace,demanding you to pace yourself appropriately to receive the maximum benefits from this experience. Totalparticipation by students is expected in the form of discussing the materials covered in the textbook (in theform of class discussions and weekly homework exercise assignments) and in the presentations you make andthose made by fellow students. As will be the case when you go into your professional career any incompleteor missed assignments will result in proportional reduction from your grade. Plan your activities ana homeworkassignments accordingly and do not miss any deadlines. You will be using your communication skills indifferent areas of financial accounting. Although you will not be assessed heavily on the technical aspects ofthese areas in this class, it is expected that you will be able to research topics you self assign ana areassigned as part of the homework presentations and to demonstrate adeouate competency in each area.
