Common tools used by Earth's scientists | Binoculars, Compass, Wind vane, anemometer, streak plate |
Binoculars | enable people to view faraway objects more clearly |
Compass | instrument that shows magnetic north |
Wind vane | device that rotates to show the direction of the wind |
anemometer | tool used to measure the speed and force of wind |
streak plate | A piece of unglazed porcelain that helps identify minerals |
Topography | the shape of the land that includes the area's elevation, relief, and landforms |
Elevation | the height above sea level of a point on Earth's surface |
