Princeton Review ACT English Prep: 4 Practice Tests + Review (2022) - Page 23 preview imageLet’splanoutastrategytohelpyoudothis.First,let’sdistinguishbetweenhardversuseasyquestionsandtime-consumingversusfastquestions.TheACTEnglishtesthaswhatwecallProofreaderquestionsandEditorquestions.Proofreaderquestionsdon’tactuallyaskaquestion—theyjustaskyoutocheck,andpossiblycorrect,thepunctuationorgrammarofanunderlinedportionofthetext.Thesequestionscanbeeasyorhard,buttheycanalwaysbedonequickly,especiallyonceyou’velearnedtherules.Editorquestionstakeupmorespaceonthepage.Theyaskaquestion,andtheiranswerchoicesareoftenmuchlonger.Althoughthesequestionscanalsobeeasierorharder,nomatterwhat,theywillbemoretime-consuming.OurbestadviceistoknowtherulesforthemostcommonlytestedProofreadertopicssoyoucanquicklygetthosequestionsright.UsethepracticetestsinthisbooktodeterminehowrushedyoufeelontheEnglishtest.If,onapracticetest,youhavetroublegettingtoallthequestions,tryskippingsomeEditorquestionsasyougo.(SkippingmeansyouquicklybubbleinyourLetteroftheDayanddon’twasteanytimeonthequestion.)ThiscanallowyoutofinishthesectionandgettoallofthequickProofreaderquestions,thusearningyoumorepoints.MakeaquickdecisionaboutwhethereachquestionshouldbedoneNoworNever.TheBestWaytoBubbleInWorkapageatatime,circlingyouranswersrightonthebooklet.Transferapage’sworthofanswerstotheanswersheetatonetime.It’sbettertostayfocusedonworkingquestionsratherthandisruptyourconcentrationtofindwhereyouleftoffontheanswersheet.You’llbemoreaccurateatbothtasks.Donotwaituntiltheend,however,totransferall
