These parts can be human-made, like a can opener, or they can be natural, like the solar system Components are the parts that are included in a system. A car has many components: It has an engine, pistons and cylinders, wheels, a transmission. A car would not function without each of the components working together to accomplish a common goal: transportation. The process is the actions taken by the system that allow it to convert the input into an output. A garden is a type of system. Humans plant and water flowers in the garden. The plants in the garden need to utilize sunlight to photosynthesize their food. These actions involved in the garden are the processes. Two main types of systems are physical systems and social (abstract) systems. A physical system is a group of physical parts that work together to perform a specific task. Physical systems can be made by humans, or they can be found in nature. Human-made systems: Mechanical systems, electrical systems, and optical systems Natural physical systems: the digestive system, circulatory system, and nervous system, and the solar system. Social system is a group of organisms who join together to accomplish certain tasks. Some social systems are found in nature.

Both have different purposes but play an important role in our daily life What is a physical system? A physical system that relies on physical parts (nuts, bolts, levers) that perform a function. Physical system can be natural or human-made. Natural systems are systems that happen naturally: body systems Body systems: a body system is a system in the body that is designed to perform a specific function. Examples: digestive system, respiratory system and the nervous system. Each system serves a specific purpose and is made up of different parts. Mechanical Systems: a mechanical system is a system that uses mechanical principles, forces or movement. Example: a nail gun which uses mechanical energy of pressurized air to help it work. Optical system: an optical system uses the properties of light Optical instrument such a microscope or telescope use lenses, mirrors and prisms An example of an optical system is a camera. A camera uses light energy to take a picture.
