The History of Public Administration • Woodrow Wilson – Considered to be the “Father of Public Administration” • Definition – a branch of political science dealing primarily with the structure and workings of agencies charged with the administration of governmental functions. • Government consists of 3 branches of government: Executive, Legislative and Judicial Branches. • Original government had one agency under the 3 branches of government. That original agency was the State Department. • Current government now has 15 agencies under the 3 branches of government.
