Brief description • 19 hijackers took over four American planes in order to conduct coordinated suicide attack that killed more than 2 , 000 innocent victims . • An American Airlines Boeing 767 crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center in New York City . • Then , 18 minutes later, a second Boeing 767 – United Airlines Flight crashed the south tower . The catastrophe turned to worse when the 2 towers collapsed in a massive cloud of dust and smoke . • American Airlines Flight 77 circled over downtown Washington, D . C . , and slammed into the west side of the . 125 people were killed in the Pentagon, along with all 64 people aboard the airliner . • Thanks to the in surrection of group of passengers, a fourth United Flight 93 leaving Newark International Airport flipped over and crashed in a rural field in western Pennsylvania killing 45 people aboard .
