When a runner is out, the official scorer will credit the fielder who made the out whether by standing on a base, collecting a fly ball, or catching the third strike. When a player is designated as a pitcher only (PO), it means he or she never bats or plays any other positions on the field. Putting outs can be remembered by placing them into one of the following groups: * Making a Great Catch * A base was touched for an out. * Releasing, the ball to tag a runner The highest number of put-outs in a game is gained by first basemen who catch throws off of infield ground balls. Since the only thing players are doing to earn credit for a put-out is catching rhe ball and completing the out from the defensive player’s point versus the batting club, this is not necessarily a skill-based statistic. Pitchers are increasingly being labeled Pitchers Only" by their coaches because they go to higher levels of play. Pitchers in both the major leagues and the college often rank just to work with a pitching coach. Pitchers have a separate practice schedule from the hitters because they have their own set of specialized drills and routines designed by the pitching coaches. Putoucs can be credited to the following players: A Catcher: A catcher's roles and dudes cover the entirety of a game. On ground-ball outs, the first baseman will be credited with a putout if he gets the throw. A Fielder: A fielder is mostly a defensive player. A pitcher mostly helps defend a base by preventing the offensive team from taking the running position. This is only possible if they get an out on the other team's side of the play. The glove is used on the non-throwing hand because it's the hand that throws the ball by the fielder. There is another type of out ±at fielders can get besides the putout (PO), and that is the unassisted putout.
