Telecommunications Networks: Features, Topologies, and Their Role inModern Business and TechnologyAssignment 2 NetworkingAssume that you were recently hired by a manufacturing company as a systems administrator trainee. Yourfirstassignment is to develop a paper that communicates the various functions of telecommunications to endusers. As a result, you should try to keep your explanations of the technology as simple as possible. Write afour to five (4-5) page paper in which you: Describe the features of telecommunications networks, includingkey networking technologies. Cover the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model, including each logicallayer. Discuss whether telephone networks and computer networks will remain distinct in the future. Describevarious network media and how they are changing. Explain the differences among LANS, WANS, CANS, andMANS. Describe three (3) ways in which businesses use Internet services and protocols. (For example, what isVoIP and how is it used?) Use at least three (3) quality resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia andsimilar Websites do not qualify as quality resources. Your assignment must follow these formattingrequirements: Be typed, double-spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on allsides; citations and references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for anyadditional instructions. Include a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student’s name, theprofessor’s name, the course title, and the date. The cover page and the reference page are not included in therequired assignment page length. The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:Illustrate the use of information and communication technologies to solve problems as an informationtechnology professional. Use technology and information resources to research issues in informationtechnology. Write clearly and concisely about introductory information technology topics using proper writingmechanics and technical style conventions.Featuresof telecommunications networksTelecommunicationplays the important role in the emerging cloud market and in the ecosystem. The telecommunication network is the central part for the multitenantarchitecture of the cloudthatdeliversthemultiservicefor the multi users.Featuresof telecommunication:1.Principaltoolfor thecomputingwork in group.2.Provide high speedcommunication within the limited are.3.Facilities involvejukeboxopticalmemoryand fast printers.4.Provide the backbone through which all the other nodes are communicate.

5.Use telecommunication links and equipmentgivenby the specialized vendors.Network topologies:The purpose for the control of network is to give the connection between the nodes thatrequirecommunicating. The arrangement of these nodes and inks in the network is called thetopology. The following topologies are most commonly used:1.Hierarchical network:The corporate host the computer, divisional minicomputers andthe support for the workgroup. This topology matchesthe structureof the organization ofmany companies and is stillrepeatedlyused in WANs. The workstations may beconnected by using one ofthetopologiesof LAN.2.Starnetwork:Inthisnetwork,thehubcomputerconnectsthelargenumberofworkstations. The computer at the hub acts like the server on network, given the access tothe shared database and the software. The star network is easy to control and expand.Thecentral node is the locus of vulnerability.3.Ring network:Every node in the ring network isconnectingtwo of its neighbor. Thenodes are generally closed to every othernode. This is used in LANs.If the node fails, the ring does not work.4.Busnetwork:The nodes on this network are connected to the ordinarylink. This is usedin LANs. The failing device does not affect the rest of the network.OSI model:The ISO has developed the OSI model to understand the globalization of thetelecommunications. The open system provides the open field to the wide array of thecompeting vendors that advantageous to the users to make surethatthey are locked in to theclosed framework of the manufacturer.
