Will I be allowed to use a calculator?A. Yes, you will be provided with a simple four-function calculator to use on the math section of theTEAS.You may NOT bring your own calculator. If you are taking a paper version of the TEAS, theschool or testing center will provide a calculator for you to use. If you are taking the TEAS on acomputer, it will be an on-screen calculator built into the testing software.Q. What scores do I need to earn on the TEAS?A. It is left up to each school to set its own cut scores. You will need to check with each school whereyou plan to apply to see what scores they require.Q. When will I get my scores?A. It depends on where and how you will be taking the test. At most testing locations withcomputer-based testing, you will receive your TEAS scores as soon as you finish taking the test.However, you may have to wait a few days for your score if you are taking a pencil-and-paper testorif the school where you are taking it has administratively set a waiting period.

Studyinginacoffeeshop, whileprobably moreenjoyable,isnotlikelytobeasfruitfulas studying inaquietroom.It’simportanttokeep distractions to a minimum. You’reonlyplanningtostudyforashortblockoftime,somakethemostofit.Don’tpausetocheckyourphoneorgetuptofindasnack.It’s also important toavoidmultitasking.Researchhasconsistentlyshownthatmultitaskingwillmakeyourstudyingdramaticallylesseffective.Yourstudyareashouldalsobecomfortableandwell-litsoyoudon’thavethedistractionofstrainingyoureyesorsittingonanuncomfortablechair.Thetimeofdayyoustudyisalsoimportant. Youwanttoberestedandalert.Don’twaituntiljustbeforebedtime.Studywhenyou’llbemostlikelytocomprehendandremember.Evenbetter,ifyouknowwhattimeofdayyourtestwillbe,setthattimeasideforstudy.Thatwayyourbrainwillbeusedtoworkingonthatsubjectatthatspecifictimeandyou’llhaveabetterchanceofrecallinginformation.Finally,itcanbehelpfultoteamupwithotherswhoarestudyingforthesametest.Youractualstudyingshouldbedoneinasisolatedanenvironmentaspossible,buttheworkoforganizingtheinformationandsettingupthestudyplancanbedividedup.Inbetweenstudysessions,youcandiscusswithyourteammatestheconceptsthatyou’reallstudyingandquizeachotheronthedetails. Just be sure that your teammates are asserious about the test as you are. If you find thatyour study time is being replaced with social time, you might need to find a new team.
