    ‘Week 4 DQ2 Aggression Although we label some behaviors as aggressive, we also neglect a multitude of other actions that qualify as aggressive behaviors. As mentioned in your textbook, what matters is the intent of the action, not necessarily the action itself. Describe the various origins of aggressive behavior, and discuss the gender differences in how aggression is developed and presented. Additionally, describe the aggression cues that we encounter in our social world through the media, the presence of weapons, alcohol and drug consumption, the environment, etc. How do these cues influence our capacity to behave in an aggressive manner? After this weeks’ reading in Feenstra (2011), | believe that aggression is a combination of genetic tendencies and the cultural values that have been developed in your life. Aggression has two aspects first the behavior is meant to harm another, and the second is that the other needs to be motivated to avoid the harm. Accidents do happen, and people end up getting hurt, but true aggression is meant to cause the harm. Physical aggression that carries the possibility of great harm is known as violence. Aggression can be found in most cultures to varying degrees. The amount and severity of aggression, as well as the forms of aggression depend mainly on what is considered normal and acceptable for a social situation.
