IntroductionBoth federal and state law regulates gun possessionand any other dangerous weapon in schools andcolleges.Federal and state law requires every public school toreport any incident of gun possession within theschool premises or in the transportation systems. The law further states that any student found inpossession of a gun shall be expelled. They argue that the rise in the number of shootingcrimes committed by mentally unstable youths andadults is enough to justify the point that to protectthemselves from the attacks of perverts, studentsshould be allowed to carry guns while in the school orcollege campus.

Why Allowing Guns In SchoolsAnd Colleges Is A Bad IdeaIntroducing guns in schools, universities, and collegeswould be very dangerous due to very many reasons.College and university students are normally in the agebracket of 18-24.That period is the most volatile in the life of anindividual. This is the peak period for abuse of drugs and alcohol, mental health problems, suicide attempts, andcommitting gun crimes (Doeden, 2012).
