Study Guide2.Prepositional Pronouns2.1What Are Prepositional Pronouns?Sometimes, a pronoun comesafter a prepositionlikepara(for),por(for/because of),con(with), orde(of/from).In these cases, Spanish usesprepositional pronouns.Aprepositional pronounreplaces a noun that is theobject of a preposition.(Refer toTable 1above while reading this section.)Most prepositional pronouns lookexactly the same as subject pronouns.However, there aretwo important exceptions:•yo → mí(has an accent mark)•tú → ti(no accent mark)Important to remember:•míhas an accent•tidoesnothave an accentAll other forms stay the same as subject pronouns.2.2Why Do These Pronouns Sound Different?In English, pronouns after prepositions sound like object pronouns (me, him, her).In Spanish, they usuallylook like subject pronouns, even though they act like object pronouns.
