In addition, each chapter explicitly promotesculturalexploration throughillustrated presentations that are followed by activities facilitating comprehension andhighlighting culturalcomparisons. Students are encouraged to analyze and compareextremely varied aspects of Italian culture while makingconnectionsto their ownexperiences.Communicative activities that have real-world relevance are at the heart of thePercorsiprogram. Within culturally authentic contexts, role-plays, pair and group workprovide students with numerous opportunities to interact in Italian with other learners.Authentic materials, such as advertisements, brochures, and newspaper and magazinearticles, provide extensive exposure to contemporary Italian language and culture.
