Part 1: The Military ExperienceWorld War II actually had its origins at the termination of World War 1 when the allied countriesof that time defeated Germany which was ruled by Kaiser Wilhelm and her allies. The majorcountries that opposed Germany in World War 1 were Great Britain, France and the UnitedStates. The nations that were joined with Germany in opposition to these countries were Austriaand Turkey. When these nations were eventually defeated their empires were dismantled by thevictors of the war and they were forced to make war reparations which basically means that theywere made to pay huge fines to the victor nations which eventually became ruinous to thedefeated nations economies and led to their eventual fiscal collapse. On the other side of the Atlantic Ocean there was a period of time after WW1 that the UnitedStates enjoyed a decade of prosperity called the Roaring Twenties which actually gave rise toillegalbootlegging, and eventually to organized crime.Butthen in 1929 the stock market crashoccurred on Wall Streetand ushered in the period of time in American history known as theGreat Depression. The Great Depression wasright behind the attack on Pearl Harbor, aprimary reason for theentrance of the United States into World War II. The Depression not only affected the Americaneconomy but also the economies of Europe. Without American dollars being invested inEuropean markets these European nations came face to face with economic and industrialdecline that eventually spread globally and also to the Asian economy of the Japanese Empire.America seeing Japanese aggression against its Asian neighborsimposed economic sanctionsagainst the nation which greatly angered the Japanese and hampered their plans for Asiandomination and eventually led to the planned attack at Pearl Harbor in the Hawaiian Islands.
